Nuggets of hope

Alright everyone, happy sweater vest Wednesday. In case you haven't noticed (and you haven't because nobody actually reads these words), but sweater vest Wednesday is catching on everywhere! I saw an old man today rocking the sweater vest. Our eyes connected. He understood me and we saw each others soul...

So, I have hope right now. It's 15 minutes to tip off and I have hope in my team. I am not expecting the Nuggets to win (see post below), but I have hope that they can. Why? I don't know. I think it's blind optimism but the story is too good. A team coached by a guy who came back from cancer endures the spite and scorn of his star player. Star player gets shipped out along with the town hero. A rag tag group of non-superstars comes together and makes a nice run to make the playoffs...until they run into KD and muppeteers (Russell Westbrook looks like a Muppet to me). That Kevin Durant, so hot right now. This is the team to beat in the playoffs. They have the youth and experience to make a deep run and dethrone the Lakers. The Nuggets stand no chance, especially down 3-0. They win one. Nice win, but it says nothing. They steal the next one. People start paying attention, until, they blow them out in game 6 at home. Now, all eyes are on this team.

What will they do? Will they overcome the odds and become the first team to win a series after being down 3-0? Did the 1994 Nuggets have a shot against the Sonics (and the Thunder's franchise started where?)? No 8 seed had ever beaten a 1 seed...and Dikembe shocked a George Karl coached team in the first round to make history. History awaits this team. It starts tonight. The story needs to be written.
